The Sous Frétille vineyard is steeply-sloping, facing due south. The vines are above the village and its colourful church spire, visible to all who approach. Pebble-rich soils are shallow, yields never plentiful. One third of the Pavelot vines are 80 years old, with the average age of the whole plot being around 50 years. The wine aged in oak barrels for a year, for bottling in December 2024. Colour is fresh, green-gold, aromas are ripe and floral, still discreet. Palate shows elegant, stony intensity of fruit, with exceptional elegance, with rich, fresh aftertaste.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

The Pavelot Family, grape growers and wine makers, is well rooted in Pernand-Vergelesses. Luc and Lise are the seventh generation, following their parents Régis and Annie, preceded by many other generations of Pavelot.

Today, the brother sister pair, work to uphold the family tradition and viticultural heritage of those who preceded them on their 10 hectares (22 acres) of vineyards.
